Rain Couldn’t Stop Taylor Swift’s Show

After being delayed by rain and a nearby power strike, Taylor Swift performed the first Sydney Era tour show.

 Taylor Swift was supported by Travis Kelce, Katy Perry and Rita Ora at the Sydney Era Tour show on Friday.

Taylor Swift, 34, was due to perform night one of her Era tour gigs in front of 81,000 fans at Sydney’s Acre Stadium on Friday.

However due to a nearby lightning strike, the stadium floor had to be evacuated.  Things turned sour after that, which can be seen in a video posted on social media.

  “Please note, due to weather, the show’s start time has been delayed. Stay private until further notice and follow venue screens and staff instructions. Stay safe and stay safe.”

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Taylor Swift joined the stage after 7:50 PM local time, but Taylor Swift and her supporting actress Sabrina Carpenter did not perform due to the weather delay.

  According to “People“, Swift told the crowd, “The Australian crowd will never let anything get in the way.”

  As usual, the show captured the attention of the people. Guests included Katy Perry, Rita Ora, and Taika Waititi. 

Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was spotted in the audience.  In several videos posted on X (former Twitter), the Kansas City Chiefs are shown entering Sidney Stadium and cheering on his girlfriend from the VIP tent.

 According to “People” Last Friday, Swift took the stage in front of 96,000 fans, more people at the venue than any other concert ever, and she performed to a 74,000-strong crowd at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in May.

  “This is the biggest show we’ve done on this tour or any tour,” Taylor Swift told the crowd in a clip shared on X.

  “That’s the version you’ve got of me tonight, the version that’s influenced by the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on Friday night in Melbourne,” The “Love Story” singer added.
