The American production company announced making a film on the life of famous and beautiful pop singer Britney Spears.

On August 1, Universal Studios revealed that it had acquired the rights to Britney Spear’s “The Woman In Me.”

In a statement, Universal Pictures said they have acquired the rights to the best-selling singer-songwriter to be released in 2023 after highly competitive campaign.

The studio has announced that the biopic will be directed by John M. Cho and produced by Mark Platt. Although no casting decisions have been made.

The Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman In Me,” was released in October 2023 and has sold more than 2.5 million copies to date.

In her memoir, the 42-year-old singer describes her ordeal and her long legal battle to end her father’s 13-year conservatorship.

Britney Spears said in a statement on the social media platform ‘X’ (former twitter) that she is “very excited to share with her fans the news that she is working on a secret project with her favorite producer.”

Music biopics are becoming more common in the Hollywood industry, with recent films about Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse, and Bob Marley. Additionally, a biopic on Michael Jackson is expected to be released in next year.
