First US Execution Using Nitrogen Gas Carried Out

ALABAMA: For the first time in America, a criminal was executed by nitrogen gas.

 According to the Aljazeera news agency, in the American state of Alabama, the murderer Kenneth Smith was executed by nitrogen gas.

 According to the report, nitrogen gas was released into the mask worn by the criminal in Alabama.

 The Attorney General said that in less than 40 minutes, Smith was pronounced dead.

 According to Al Jazeera, Kenneth Smith was sentenced to death in 1989 for killing a preacher’s wife.

It should be remembered that the US states of Alabama, Oklahoma, and Mississippi have approved the death penalty by nitrogen gas.  The United Nations Human Rights Commission has declared the death penalty by nitrogen gas as an inhumane act.
